Within the tourism system, tourism suppliers are an essential component linking the generating region with the transit and destination regions. This course provides a practical view of tourism operations and management from the perspective of tourism intermediaries. This course provides the framework within which travel distribution occurs. Students will be introduced to the principles and practices of travel intermediaries exploring relevant theoretical concepts and current industry practices, with a focus on tour operators and travel agents. This includes the roles and responsibilities of travel intermediaries, travel formalities, itinerary planning, marketing, customer service skills as well as emerging trends within the travel industry.
