Here, the students will learn about the operation of the remaining specific organ systems. While anatomy provides the static image (Structure), physiology reveals the dynamic nature (Function) of the living body, and all body functions are incomprehensible without an understanding of the underlying biochemistry (Metabolism).

Students will learn and be able to explain the workings of the various organ systems such as gastro-intestinal system, renal, endocrine, reproductive systems (male & female), autonomic nervous system, special senses and the central nervous system. The intimate relationship of anatomy, physiology and biochemistry will be stressed throughout the module to make the learning more meaningful.

The module will focus on three essential concepts: - the complementarity of structure and function, hierarchy of structural organization, and homeostasis. This will lay the foundation and help prepare the students for their later clinical years to be able to see the relationship between homeostatic imbalances and disease.
